The addition of the Language Weaver Technology, considered to be the leading machine translation technology in the world, combined with SDL's existing Language Technologies will take our Global Information Management technology portfolio to a new level, providing our customers and partners with a solid platform to create and maintain global content.
Commenting on the announcement Mark Lancaster said,
"We are delighted to have Mark Tapling lead the Language Technologies division. The integration of machine translation into the human translation process is crucial. We consider that within 5 years more than 50% of all translated content will use machine translation as part of the translation process. We are dedicated to investing in language management technology in order to provide the platform for companies to deliver global content fast and cost effectively for all content across their business."
