SHARE ACQUISITION FOR EMPLOYEE BENEFIT TRUST

 

PV Crystalox Solar plc (the "Company"was advised today, that the Trustee of the PV Crystalox Solar Employees' Benefit Trust (the "EBT") had completed the purchase of 700,000 of the Company's ordinary shares of 2 pence each ("Shares") at an average price of 63.5453 pence per Share on 19 January 2010.

This purchase was made to provide the EBT with greater capacity to meet potential future conditional obligations in respect of the Company's share based payment plans. These plans currently include the PV Crystalox Solar plc Long Term Incentive Plan, the PV Crystalox Solar plc Share Incentive Plan and the PV Crystalox Solar plc Executive Directors' Deferred Share PlanAccordingly the Executive Directors of the Company may have an interest in these shares as potential beneficiaries of the EBT. Following this purchase the EBT holds 8,705,000 Shares representing 2.09 per cent of the Company's total voting rights.

 

This notification was made in accordance with Rule 3.1.4R of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

PV Crystalox Solar PLC, initially established in 1982, is a highly specialised supplier to the world's leading solar cell manufacturers, producing multicrystalline silicon wafers for use in solar electricity generation systems.  The Company was one of the first to develop multicrystalline silicon technology on an industrial scale, setting the industry standard for ingot production.
