Re Directorate
Mr Saad Shehata, a non executive Director and nominee of Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi & Sons WLL ("Kharafi"), has resigned from the Board with effect from 23 June 2009.
Mr Samer Younis (47), also a nominee of Kharafi, has been appointed to the Board as a non-executive Director, with effect from 23 June 2009. Mr Younis is currently Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Kharafi National, recognized throughout the Middle East as a fully-integrated leading infrastructure and utility developer (BOTs), a major international construction, manufacturing and facilities management company within the Kharafi Group.
David Allvey, Chairman, commented:
"Saad has made a significant contribution to Costain and we wish him a very happy retirement. We are pleased to welcome Samer as his replacement and the wealth of experience he will bring to the Board."

Mr Younis has not held a directorship in a public quoted company on the London Stock Exchange in the last five years. There are no details in respect of Listing rule 9.6.13(2) to (6). Mr Younis is a Director of Kharafi National and numerous other companies in the Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi & Sons WLL Group.
