Go-Ahead Group PLC04 April 2007 For immediate release 4 April 2007 The Go-Ahead Group plc ("Go-Ahead" or the "Group") Response to Department for Transport Announcement Regarding the Brighton Main Line Route Utilisation Strategy Following today's announcement by the Department for Transport, Go-Ahead isdelighted that the Gatwick Express services are to be incorporated into theSouthern franchise from May 2008 and is looking forward to working with theDepartment for Transport and all the associated parties to deliver this expandedservice effectively. Detailed negotiations on the necessary formal changes to the Southern FranchiseAgreement are expected to be concluded by the end of May 2007. The currentSouthern franchise is due to expire in December 2009. Go-Ahead also welcomes the fact that the Government is giving support to anorder for new vehicles to further improve capacity for the benefit ofpassengers.
