Kier Group PLC07 August 2006 07 August 2006 KIER CONSORTIUM SIGNS MULTI MILLIONPFI CONTRACT WITH KENT POLICE A consortium comprising Kier Project Investment, Kier South East, RelianceSecure Task Management and Bank of Scotland Corporate has achieved financialclose on a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract to provide and run a newpolice operations centre at Thamesway, Northfleet on behalf of Kent PoliceAuthority. The £30m headquarters building, to be built by Kier South East, will include a40-cell custody suite. When complete in early summer 2008, Reliance Secure TaskManagement will run the facilities management for the 30-year concessionaryperiod. Kier Group chief executive John Dodds commented: "We are delighted to havesecured this contract and look forward to working with Kent Police. Ourobjectives as shareholder and builder are to facilitate Kent Police in theirdrive to consistently improve their day to day operations."
