18 December, 2012 ROLLS-ROYCE SIGNS $1BN TRENT 900 CONTRACT AND TRENT 700 LETTER OF INTENT WITH SKYMARK AIRLINES

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has signed a $1bn contract, atlist prices, from Japan's Skymark Airlines for Trent 900 engines to power sixAirbus A380 aircraft.

The Trent 900 order, which follows the announcement of a letter of intent forthese engines in September 2011, includes long-term TotalCare® service support.The aircraft will enter into service in 2014.

The airline has also signed a letter of intent for Trent 700 engines to powerup to 10 leased Airbus A330s, including TotalCare®. The aircraft will be thefirst A330s in Skymark's fleet and will enter into service in 2014.

Skymark, a new customer for Rolls-Royce, is the only carrier in Japan to selectboth the Trent 900 and Trent 700.

The Trent 900 has been selected by 11 of the 16 airlines that have made anengine selection for the A380. In Asia it has been selected by six out of sevenoperators. The Trent 700 is the only engine specifically designed for the A330and remains the market leader for the aircraft, with more than 1,400 of theengines either in service or on order.
