Carillion PLC01 November 2007 Carillion wins building contracts worth £137 million for public and private sector customers Support services and construction company Carillion has won three new contractsin the UK worth approximately £137 million: a £70 million contract for the newRolls Building in London, two contracts for the Scottish Prison Service inEdinburgh worth some £47 million and a contract to provide new offices for theWelsh Assembly Government in Aberystwyth with a target cost of approximately £20million. The new eleven storey Rolls Building in Fetter Lane, will provide new officeaccommodation to replace the existing Rolls House, Arnold House and No 8 BreamBuildings for development manager Delancey Estates. The development is a jointventure on behalf of funds advised by Delancey and Invista Real EstateInvestment Management and is due for completion in October 2009. The £20 million contract for the Welsh Assembly Government will provide newmultifunctional offices to accommodate up to 535 staff. The building willprovide predominantly naturally ventilated open plan office space, heating frombiomass boilers, rainwater harvesting, solar panels for hot water, and overallachieves an excellent BREEAM rating. The contracts for the Scottish Prison Service (SPS), which have been awardedunder a framework agreement with the SPS, involve the design and construction ofa new 135-prisoner place house block at HMP Edinburgh and a new gate complex,kitchen, energy centre, prisoner reception, games hall and health centre for HMYoung Offenders Institution Polmont at Falkirk.
