ITIS Holdings PLC26 October 2006 ITIS extends DfT congestion monitoring contract for a further 12 months ITIS Holdings plc ("ITIS or the "Company") today announces that the Departmentfor Transport (DfT) who maintain and improve the network of trunk roads andmotorways in England has extended the existing contract to license ITIS'historic Floating Vehicle Data (FVD(R)) to measure congestion across the roadnetwork for a further twelve months. ITIS has developed and now operates the world's largest FVD(R) system usinginformation gathered from tens of thousands of cars, commercial vehicles andcoaches, all of which are equipped with position enabled devices. Data isgathered by ITIS in real time and stored for historic analysis. Under the terms of the agreement, the DfT will purchase historic data from ITISfor a further year enabling statisticians to measure the ongoing impact ofcongestion. ITIS data will also be made available to local authorities inEngland to help them produce and measure the effectiveness of Local TransportPlans.
