ROLLS-ROYCE WINS $350M CONTRACT FROM HAWAIIAN AIRLINES

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has won a $350 million contract from Hawaiian Airlines to deliver Trent 700 engines to power five Airbus A330 aircraft. The order includes TotalCare® long-term services support.

The aircraft, to be delivered from 2013 to 2015, will add to the airline's current fleet of five Trent 700-powered A330s and another 12 to be delivered.

Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian Airline's President and CEO said: "This announcement marks another important milestone in the growth of our business and our long range fleet. The Rolls-Royce Trent 700 delivers high levels of operational performance and fuel-efficiency. It is the cleanest and quietest engine for the Airbus A330 - two important considerations for Hawaiian Airlines."

Mark King, Rolls-Royce, President - Civil Aerospace, said: "We are very pleased that Hawaiian Airlines has again chosen to place its trust in our world-class engine technology, which is underpinned by comprehensive TotalCare® support. We look forward to continuing to develop our important relationship and helping Hawaiian Airlines maximise the benefits of Rolls-Royce technology."

The Trent 700 is the only engine specifically designed for the Airbus A330 and is the most fuel-efficient, cleanest and quietest engine for the aircraft. It now incorporates technology from later generation Trent engines, which has further improved its fuel-efficiency by one per cent.

More than 1,400 Trent 700 engines are now in service or on firm order. In the past three years the engine has captured more than 75 per cent of orders for the A330.

In addition to the current fleet of A330s, the carrier also operates 18 Boeing 717s, powered by the Rolls-Royce BR715 and has six Airbus A350 aircraft on order, which will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.
