Contract agreement with BAPCO
Cape PLC (AIM: CIU), the international provider of essential support services to the energy and natural resources sectors, is pleased to announce the award of a prestigious three year maintenance contract, ending in 2011, with the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) for the provision of integrated/bundled services.
The contract is anticipated to be worth a minimum of US$20 million over the life of the contract. Cape has been ever present on the same site for 29 years and this is the first fully integrated services contract by public tender awarded by BAPCO for the provision of access, thermal insulation, asbestos management, refractory and fireproofing services.
In addition, Cape has secured its first contract within the Gulf, again with BAPCO, for the provision of a heat exchanger overhaul. BAPCO has also asked Cape to conduct a pilot test on crude oil sludge treatment using recently acquired technology from within DBI/Endecon.
