Spice PLC20 March 2007 20 March 2007 Spice plc Contract EDF Energy - Workstream Five- Overhead Lines The Board of Spice plc ('Spice') is pleased to announce that Freedom, itsUtility Services business, has been selected to work as a key service partner toEDF Energy Network Business in connection with delivering improvements to itselectrical distribution overhead lines network. The contract runs until December 2010 with an option to extend for a furtherfive years to December 2015. The average estimated turnover value per annum isexpected to be £8 million. Work activities will focus on the refurbishment andreplacement of overhead line assets throughout the South East and the East ofEngland. Spice has previously announced in December 2006 that Freedom had been awardedcontracts by EDF Energy Networks Business for the provision of management andmaintenance services in relation to civil and building assets, and appointed asa key service partner in the investment in, and upgrade of, Major 132/33KVsubstations, throughout London, the South East and the East of England.
