Babcock International Group PLC23 January 2008 23 January 2008 Babcock International Group PLC Award of £70 million Electricity Generation Support Services Contract Babcock International Group PLC, the support services company, announces thatits subsidiary ALSTEC has been awarded a contract by British Energy GenerationLimited to provide long term support services for the UK fleet of 7 AGR PowerStations. This contract builds on the existing successful relationship between BritishEnergy and ALSTEC. It will enable ALSTEC to provide British Energy withspecialist fuel route and reactor protection system engineering services tosupport the extension of the operating lives of the AGR Power Stations. Inaddition, ALSTEC will supply, operate and maintain specialist reactor graphitecore inspection and sampling equipment to support the programme of statutoryreactor inspection outages. The contract is anticipated by ALSTEC to be worth in excess of £70 million forwork commencing in April 2008 and will run through to 2012. British Energy hasoptions to extend the contract through the operating lives of the AGR powerstations, including Stage 1 of the decommissioning programme. This processcould extend beyond 2020.
