Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, today announced that it has wona £26 million order to provide an integrated design, power and propulsion andequipment package for four Rolls-Royce UT 771 CDL offshore supply vessels to bebuilt at COSCO (Zhoushan) Shipyard Co. Ltd, in China for a Hong Kong owner. Thecontract includes options for four additional vessels.
In addition to ship design, Rolls-Royce will deliver an extensive integratedsystems package including: a propulsion system, a power electrical system, abulk handling system, deck machinery, an automation and control system, as wellas a dynamic positioning system that uses satellite technology to automaticallymaintain the vessels' position without anchoring.
This contract is the first time Rolls-Royce has incorporated high speedMTU-engines as part of an integrated power and propulsion package within thesuccessful UT-vessel series.

The four vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2014. At present COSCO grouphave four other UT-vessels under construction at the COSCO Guangdong ship yard.More than 170 ship owners world wide have UT-vessels in their fleet.
