Ultrasis PLC10 August 2005 Ultrasis PLC ("the Company") ULTRASIS SEALS 'TRAILBLAZING' DEAL WITH HALTON PRIMARY CARE TRUST Interactive healthcare specialists Ultrasis have agreed a groundbreaking dealwith Halton Primary Care Trust (HPCT), which will see patients receivingcomputer based products to treat a wide range of conditions in a variety ofsettings from GP surgeries to local clinics, community centres and their placesof work. The initiative will enable the trust to offer an unprecedented range ofcomputer based interactive healthcare programs to the people of Halton as anintegral component of the government's choice and choosing health programme. Under the agreement, HPCT and their partner organisations will be supplied alicence to use a suite of different programs, including the Ultrasis acclaimedand NICE kite-marked depression treatment Beating the Blues as well as programsfrom the Calm Workplace series. The products will be used to combat a number ofhealth challenges ranging from work related stress, depression, anxiety,insomnia, drink and drug misuse to chronic health conditions such as Angina,Diabetes and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. All the programs are easy to use and have been designed for people with noprevious computer experience. The people who live and work within the HPCT areawill be able to access the wide range of computerised treatments, allowing themthe opportunity to positively affect their own health and work in partnershipwith local health, social care and voluntary sector staff to achieve this. Laura McMurtrie, Chief Executive of HPCT described the partnership as "a majorchance to improve the range of services available for Halton people and as aresult to improve their health. This really will help to put patients right atthe centre of NHS improvements in their health care."
