Galliford Try PLC15 May 2006 MIDAS HOMES IS APPOINTED TO REGENERATE CAMBORNE Midas Homes has been chosen as the preferred development partner for a majorregeneration scheme that will bring new homes, jobs and increased prosperity toCamborne. National regeneration agency, English Partnerships, and CPR Regeneration,Cornwall's Urban Regeneration Company, jointly selected Midas Homes to redevelopthe former CompAir Holman site in the Dolcoath area of town. The selectioncriteria included sustainability, design quality and experience of communityconsultation. Midas Homes will now work with English Partnerships and CPR Regeneration on thedelivery of a mixed-use neighbourhood that will provide 390 homes and createaround 250 new jobs through the provision of offices and commercialopportunities suitable for small businesses. In response to local housing needs, 25 per cent of the new homes will be classedas affordable and a further 15 per cent reserved for first-time buyers. Improvedroad links, parking, public open spaces and new community facilities will createan attractive, safe place where people will want to live, work and relax. The mixed-use regeneration project will feature innovative building designs,using locally sourced granite, slate and other materials.
