Carillion PLC13 December 2005 Carillion wins £230 million contract for News International Support services and construction company Carillion, has secured a £230 millioncontract with News International to provide new print facilities. Carillion has been appointed to provide three new printing plants at sites inGlasgow, Liverpool and London following a two-stage tender process. The newplants are part of a £600 million investment by News International Newspapers toupdate its printing facilities to incorporate the latest technology. The £25 million Glasgow project at EuroCentral Business Park will house two newpresses; the £45 million development at Liverpool five presses and the £160million London project at Broxbourne 12 presses. All three plants are due to befully operational by the end of 2007. Carillion's integrated solution will comprise design, construction, planningsupervision and building control consultancy. In addition, Carillion will useits position as UK leader in construction training to create new employmentopportunities, particularly at Broxbourne which is close to two existingCarillion construction training centres in the London area.
