Business Post Group PLC08 January 2007 8 January 2007 Business Post Group plc Major downstream access postal contract win Business Post Group plc announces that its mail company UK Mail, the leadingcompetitor to Royal Mail in downstream access postal services, has been awardeda major new contract by HM Government's Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)worth £12 million of revenue per annum. DWP is one of the largest Central Government departments and the first toappoint an independent downstream access operator. DWP mails 82 million items ayear from two distribution centres in the North East and North West of England.With the Royal Bank of Scotland and DWP, UK Mail now has two of the threelargest mailers in the UK as customers. DWP will become UK Mail's largestcustomer by revenue. This new contract is due to commence on 5 February 2007. Guy Buswell, Chief Executive of Business Post Group plc, said: "We are delighted to have won this very significant contract. It being the firstsuch contract awarded by Central Government, it was a highly competitive processand follows a year-long trial period during which we operated alongside oneother independent operator.
