2waytraffic N.V.25 September 2007 25th September 2007 ITV1 re-commissions Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? 2waytraffic UK is delighted to announce that ITV1 has re-commissioned Who WantsTo Be A Millionaire? for a further series. The new deal comprises at least 25 x 60 minutes episodes and will see theglobally successful quiz show continue to feature in the broadcaster's primetimeschedule until at least spring 2009. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? made its global debut on ITV1 in September 1998and has been a mainstay of the ITV1 schedule since. Now in its 22nd series,there have been over 480 episodes, featuring over 1311 contestants in thehotseat, collectively winning over £50,000,000. The show recently introduced a new contestant casting initiative and a newlyconfigured money tree, featuring a new, faster route to the million poundjackpot, as well as refreshed graphics and music. The new look proved an instanthit with viewers, with the first episode, a celebrity special, attracting anaverage of 6.1m viewers or 28% share.
