Galliford Try PLC03 October 2007 GALLIFORD TRY APPOINTED ON 800 HOME ZERO CARBON REGENERATION SCHEME Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, is pleased toannounce that in joint partnership with the Affinity Sutton Group housingassociation it has been confirmed as preferred bidder, subject to Communitiesand Local Government approval and contract, on national regeneration agencyEnglish Partnerships' planned redevelopment of the former Graylingwell hospitalsite on the outskirts of Chichester, West Sussex. The development will be set in90 acres of grade II listed "historic parks and gardens of historic interest". The project will provide approximately 800 homes and commercial/ communitybuildings of which 40% will be affordable. The development is conceived as alandmark sustainable scheme providing high quality net zero carbon buildingdesign. The net zero carbon strategy will enable Galliford Try to jointlypioneer, with English Partnerships, one of the first major carbon neutraldevelopments in the UK. Galliford Try will also use its specialist expertise to renovate and convert keyexisting former hospital buildings to provide new homes. Further plans for thesite include 50,000 square feet of commercial and community facilities, including a theatre, artist's studios, offices and a restaurant.
