Telit Communications PLC16 July 2007 16 July 2007 masternaut chooses Telit for the GPRS data transmission coming from its electronic boxes Paris/Trieste - After an examination of the different market opportunities, thetelematics specialist masternaut chose Telit's ultra-compact GC quad-band seriesM2M modules to equip its electronic boxes, MCU2 and the Tribox. Resulting from aprogram of different competitive analyses and thorough tests performed at thelaboratories of the producer in Trieste, masternaut chose the solutions offeredby Telit Wireless Solutions, an international specialist in M2M communication. In a first step, Telit's ultra-compact GC quad-band series M2M modules are goingto be used in the MCU2 (the embedded electronic box of masternaut - MobileCollector Unit) and the Tribox first generation (electronic box for tracking andtoll services). The next generation of boxes, the MCU3 and Tribox2, which willbe launched in spring 2008, will use the GE864 module of Telit. The GE864 iscurrently the world's smallest GSM/GPRS quad-band module with the BGA assemblyconcept. masternaut's decision in favour of Telit as its technology partner will bringabout additional synergies for both companies.
