13 May 2005 ROLLS-ROYCE AND TOTAL SIGN OFFSHORE ENGINE MAINTENANCE DEAL Rolls-Royce and TOTAL E & P UK plc* have signed a multi-million dollar contractfor the technical support of key equipment in service on offshore platformsoperated by TOTAL.TOTAL E & P UK plc has awarded Rolls-Royce an extension to an existing contractcovering its Avon and RB211 gas turbines installed on the Alwyn North and Elgingas production platforms in the North Sea.The Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) contract is the second significant suchcontract secured by the Rolls-Royce energy business in recent weeks. It followsthe recent signing of an ‚£11.2 million agreement with Metragaz, operator of theMaghreb pipeline supplying Spain and Portugal with natural gas from Algeria viaMorocco.The five Avon units in the Alwyn Field undertake power generation and gascompression duties and have been in service since the 1980s.
