9 February 2005 ROLLS-ROYCE AND VIRGIN ATLANTIC SIGN 12-YEAR TRENT SERVICE DEAL Rolls-Royce announced today (9 February) that it had signed a further long-termservices agreement with Virgin Atlantic Airways for Trent engines on theairline's fleet of long-range Airbus jets.The 12-year TotalCare contract covers maintenance of Trent 500 engines on anadditional 15 of Virgin Atlantic's four-engined A340-600 aircraft. A separateservice agreement for Trent engines on ten other aircraft in the A340 fleet hasbeen in place since 2002.Charles Cuddington, Managing Director, Airlines Business at Rolls-Royce, said:"This builds on our existing relationship with Virgin Atlantic, the Trent 500'slaunch customer, by increasing the level of service we are giving the airline."TotalCare contracts, which are customised for individual operators, arestructured around payment of an agreed dollar rate per flying hour.
