Johnston Press PLC09 August 2005 For Immediate Release 9 August 2005 Johnston Press plc Johnston Press completes the acquisition of Score Press Limited Further to our announcement on 21 June 2005, Johnston Press plc ("JohnstonPress") has today successfully completed the acquisition of Score Press Limited("Score Press") from EMAP plc ("EMAP"). As previously disclosed the acquisitionof Score Press was conditional upon completion of EMAP's acquisition of ScottishRadio Holdings plc ("SRH"). Following receipt of the required regulatoryclearances all the necessary conditions have been satisfied. Score Press was acquired from EMAP for an aggregate consideration of £155million on a cash and debt free basis. As previously disclosed the considerationwill be satisfied from Johnston Press' banking facilities.
