Johnston Press PLC04 November 2005 For Immediate Release 4 November 2005 Johnston Press plc Press Release Johnston Press Completes the Acquisition of Local Press Limited Further to the announcement of 16 September 2005, Johnston Press plc ('JohnstonPress') has today successfully completed the acquisition of Local Press Limited('Local Press'). As previously disclosed the acquisition of Local Press wassubject to the approval of the Irish Competition Authority and the IrishMinister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment under the legislation governingcompetition and the ownership of newspapers. Following receipt of the requiredregulatory clearances all the necessary conditions have been satisfied. Local Press was acquired for an aggregate consideration of £65 million on a cashand debt free basis. As previously disclosed the consideration will be satisfiedfrom Johnston Press' banking facilities.
