Monitise ranked as third fastest growing technology company in the UK in the 2012 Deloitte Technology Fast 50
Monitise's 2875% percent growth attributed to 'tremendous' support from partners and government bodies
London, November 9, 2012 - Monitise plc (LSE: MONI), the technology and services company delivering mobile banking, payments and commerce networks worldwide, today announced that it ranked number three in the 2012 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the UK. Positions are based on percentage revenue growth over five years. Monitise grew 2875% percent during this period.
Monitise Group Chief Executive Alastair Lukies credits the company's rapid growth rate and global success over the past five years to its unique network approach to Mobile Money and the ongoing support received from its strategic partners, including Visa Europe, Visa Inc. RBS Group and FIS, as well government bodies such as UK Trade & Investment.
He said, "We are delighted to be recognised as the UK's third fastest growing technology company and to be ranked in the list for the second year running. We have had tremendous support from our partners and the government to help us grow on a global scale and sustain our revenue growth over the past five years."
"We are at the foothills of the Pyrenees when it comes to the Mobile Money opportunity, and Monitise is perfectly positioned at the heart of the connected and evolving global Mobile Money ecosystem. We have a strong, energetic team of experts at Monitise who are passionate about what we do and together we are best placed to capitalise on the dynamic nature and fast growth of the space."
David Halstead, Partner leading the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, said: "The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 gives great profile to technology companies and is internationally recognised as being one of the most important business awards in the sector."
"The 2012 Deloitte Fast 50 shows that tremendous growth rates are still possible, with software sectors showing particular strength, they have had the greatest amount of entries in the past five years."
"The Technology Fast 50 awards are an opportunity for businesses to gain recognition for their successes and achievements over the last five years. This year's ranking highlights the importance of finding a niche product or service to beat the recession."
This year's Deloitte Technology Fast 50 highlights the dominance of London, with six of the top ten companies coming from the capital. Overall, technology companies from London make up 42% of the ranking and 79% of the revenue* for the winning 50 was generated by companies from London.
Halsteadadded: "The increased focus on the Silicon Roundabout area from the Government, the media and larger technology companies has helped to drive confidence in the area as a credible European hub for the industry."
