£1.1m Purchase Orders from Worcestershire County Council
Journeo plc (AIM: JNEO), a leading provider of intelligent systems for transport networks and critical national infrastructure, is pleased to announce it has received purchase orders totalling £1.1m from Worcestershire County Council.
Journeo and Worcestershire County Council have a longstanding relationship which has resulted in Journeo supporting the rollout of in-shelter and journey planning technology to the region for over a decade. To fulfil these new purchase orders, Journeo will manufacture, install and maintain its newest wayfinding totem and in-shelter displays technology, that encompass Journeo's latest accessibility and passenger security solutions.
The wayfinding totems incorporate Journeo's journey-planning software, which empowers members of the public to plan their journeys, gain access to information on nearby points of interest and find up-to-date information on local events, will also include CCTV, protecting passengers on the transport network.
In-shelter displays are part of a display upgrade programme, that will see legacy technology replaced with Journeo's latest in-shelter TFT displays. The solution will also include discreet, integrated CCTV cameras to protect passengers waiting at bus stops and incorporate Journeo's wireless push button audio solution, supporting passengers with limited vision to access transport departure information.
Russ Singleton, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"We are delighted to support Worcestershire County Council's commitment to both passenger safety and equality of access to information on its transport network. These latest orders demonstrate the authority's drive to ensure that all members of the public can confidently and safely choose to make their journeys by public transport rather than personal use cars, supporting their goal to halve carbon emissions by 2030".
