Purchase of own shares
Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore") announces that on 22 October 2008 it purchased 111,411 ordinary shares of 0.01p each at an average price of 142.2616 pence per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.
The highest price paid was 149.75 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 136.50 pence per share.
Following these purchases, Ashmore holds 1,589,228 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has 707,335,772 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Ashmore shareholders should use 707,335,772 as the denominator to determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Ashmore under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
