Purchase of own shares
Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore") announces that on 24 October 2008 it purchased 85,000 ordinary shares of 0.01p each at an average price of 130.982 pence per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.
The highest price paid was 134.00 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 129.25 pence per share.
Following these purchases, Ashmore holds 1,953,239 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has 706,971,761 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Ashmore shareholders should use 706,971,761 as the denominator to determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Ashmore under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
