Purchase of own shares
Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore") announces that on 19 November 2008 it purchased 111,193 ordinary shares of 0.01p each at an average price of 122.1828 pence per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.
The highest price paid was 123.75 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 121.25 pence per share.
Following these purchases, Ashmore holds 2,952,444 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has 705,972,556 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Ashmore shareholders should use 705,972,556 as the denominator to determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Ashmore under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
