Purchase of own shares
Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore") announces that on 23 October 2008 it purchased 90,806 ordinary shares of 0.01p each at an average price of 149.2325 pence per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.
The highest price paid was 150.00 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 145.25 pence per share.
Following these purchases, Ashmore holds 1,680,034 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has 707,244,966 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Ashmore shareholders should use 707,244,966 as the denominator to determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Ashmore under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
