Purchase of own shares
Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore") announces that on 28 November 2008 it purchased 233,703 ordinary shares of 0.01p each at an average price of 111.8883 pence per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.
The highest price paid was 116 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 110.5 pence per share.
Following these purchases, Ashmore holds 3,909,139 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has 705,015,861 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Ashmore shareholders should use 705,015,861 as the denominator to determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Ashmore under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
