Purchase of Own Securities

United Drug announces that on 11 July 2011, its broker Davy purchased 100,000 Ordinary Shares of nominal value €0.05 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on behalf of the Company. The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.3916 per share.

The 100,000 Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company's issued share capital will reduce from 241,398,183 to 241,333,183*. Each Ordinary Share carries one vote. United Drug also holds 7,528,066 Ordinary Shares in treasury, which do not carry voting rights. 

* The issued share capital of the Company of 241,333,183 includes the issue on 11 July 2011 of 35,000 Ordinary Shares pursuant to the exercise of share options by an employee.
