Purchase of Own Securities

United Drug announces that on 25 May 2011 its broker Davy purchased 72,545 Ordinary Shares of nominal value €0.05 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on behalf of the Company. The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.3019 per share.

The 72,545 Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company's issued share capital will reduce from 243,034,317 to 242,961,772. Each Ordinary Share carries one vote. United Drug also holds 7,528,066 Ordinary Shares in treasury, which do not carry voting rights.
