Purchase of Own Securities

United Drug announces that on 20 October 2011, its broker Davy purchased 46,049 Ordinary Shares of nominal value €0.05 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on behalf of the Company. The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.3993 per share.

The 46,049 Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company's issued share capital will reduce from 238,772,500 to 238,726,451. Each Ordinary Share carries one vote. United Drug also holds 7,528,066 Ordinary Shares in treasury, which do not carry voting rights.
