Purchase of Own Securities

United Drug announces that on 7 July 2011, its broker Davy purchased 102,776 Ordinary Shares of nominal value €0.05 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on behalf of the Company. The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.395 per share.

The 102,776 Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company's issued share capital will reduce from 241,505,681 to 241,449,205*. Each Ordinary Share carries one vote. United Drug also holds 7,528,066 Ordinary Shares in treasury, which do not carry voting rights. 

* The issued share capital of the Company of 241,449,205 includes the issue on 7 July 2011 of 46,300 Ordinary Shares pursuant to the exercise of share options by an employee.
