Purchase of Own Securities

United Drug announces that on 15 August 2011, its broker Davy purchased 41,164 Ordinary Shares of nominal value €0.05 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on behalf of the Company. The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.1372 per share.

The 41,164 Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company's issued share capital will reduce from 240,323,525 to 240,282,361. Each Ordinary Share carries one vote. United Drug also holds 7,528,066 Ordinary Shares in treasury, which do not carry voting rights.
