Purchase of Own Securities

United Drug announces that on 26 August 2011, its broker Davy purchased 103,523 Ordinary Shares of nominal value €0.05 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on behalf of the Company. The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.1257 per share.

The 103,523 Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company's issued share capital will reduce from 239,952,897 to 239,849,374. Each Ordinary Share carries one vote. United Drug also holds 7,528,066 Ordinary Shares in treasury, which do not carry voting rights.
