Purchase of Own Securities

United Drug announces that on 20 July 2011, its broker Davy purchased 88,522 Ordinary Shares of nominal value €0.05 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on behalf of the Company. The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.3582 per share.

The 88,522 Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company's issued share capital will be 241,320,412*. Each Ordinary Share carries one vote. United Drug also holds 7,528,066 Ordinary Shares in treasury, which do not carry voting rights. 

*United Drug's issued share capital increased today by 492,163 new ordinary shares pursuant to the listing of shares under the Company's Customer Share Discount Scheme.
