Publication of Circular and Notice of General Meeting relating to acquisition of the business and certain assets of the i newspaper

On 12 February 2016, Johnston Press plc ("Johnston Press" or the "Company") announced that it had conditionally agreed to acquire the business and certain assets of the i newspaper (the "Acquisition"). The Company is pleased to announce that a circular in relation to the Acquisiton (the "Circular") has been published and is being posted to shareholders today. 

The Acquisition is subject to the approval of shareholders of the Company and, accordingly,the Circular contains a notice convening a general meeting of the Company to be held at 10.00 a.m. on 21 March 2016 at the offices of Ashurst LLP, Broadwalk House, 5 Appold Street, London, EC2A 2HA (the "General Meeting").

The Circular will also shortly be available to view or download on the Company's website www.johnstonpress.co.uk. In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.1R, a copy of the Circular and the accompanying form of proxy have been submitted to the National Storage Mechanism and will shortly be available for inspection at www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/NSM.
