Aricom PLC17 January 2008 Press Release 17 January 2008 Aricom plc ("Aricom" or "the Group" or the "Company") Publication of circular and date of EGM Aricom (LSE: ORE, OREW), the Anglo-Russian developer of mineral resources,announced on 13 December 2007 that it had entered into a conditional agreementwith Olis Constructions Limited ("Olis") to acquire 29.26 per cent. of LapwingLimited, the Cypriot holding company that owns LLC Garinsky Mining &Metallurgical Complex which in turn holds the Garinskoye licence (the "Acquisition"). As Olis is regarded as a related party, the Acquisition (pursuant to which theconsideration is the issue of 28,265,903 new ordinary shares in the Company andthe payment of $65.1 million, reflecting the agreed value of the shares to beacquired) is subject to shareholder approval which is now proposed to be soughtat an Extraordinary General Meeting ("EGM") of the Company to be held at 10 a.m.on 15 February 2008. The circular describing the Acquisition and convening theEGM has been sent to shareholders, and for information only, to warrantholders,and has been made available to the Financial Services Authority for publicationthrough its document viewing facility.
