Further to the Company's announcement of 8 September relating to the Company's proposal to repay its 5% First Cumulative Preference Stock and 7% Cumulative Preference Stock, JL announces that today it posted to shareholders an explanatory circular (the "Circular") convening a general meeting and class meetings. The Circular has been uploaded to the National Storage Mechanism. The Circular is also available to view on the Company's website at http://www.johnlewispartnership.co.uk/media/regulatory-announcements.html.

Capitalised terms not otherwise defined in this announcement shall have the meaning given to them in the Circular.
