Prudential

FTSE Russell notes the demerger of M&G (UK, BKFB1C6) by Prudential (UK, 0709954, GEIS Large Cap, FTSE 100) on a one for one basis, and the subsequent listing of M&G on the Premium Segment of the London Stock Exchange.

Subject to regulatory approval and based on the current timetable, FTSE Russell anticipates the following treatment:

Monday 21 October 2019 (from market open):

Prudential will trade ex-entitlement. M&G will be added to the same indexes as Prudential (including the FTSE 100) based on the demerger terms and at an estimated open price. A price adjustment will be applied to Prudential by way of a capital repayment. There will be no index divisor changes as a result.

Monday 21 October 2019 (at market close):

For the impacted indexes which have a fixed number of constituents (i.e. FTSE UK, FTSEurofirst, and the FTSE4Good Index Series) the applicable indexes will be ranked based on the closing prices on Monday 21 October, with the lowest ranked constituent removed in accordance with the standard notice requirements for each Index Series.

Further notices will be published to confirm membership changes.

Wednesday 23 October 2019 (from market open):

FTSE UK Index Series & FTSEurofirst Index Series: The index changes as a result of the ranking process (as notified prior) will become effective.

Thursday 24 October 2019 (from market open):

FTSE4Good Index Series: The index changes as a result of the ranking process (as notified prior) will become effective.
