Inmarsat PLC11 January 2006 NOT FOR RELEASE, PUBLICATION OR DISTRIBUTION INTO OR IN THE UNITED STATES, CANADA, AUSTRALIA OR JAPAN PROPOSED SECONDARY PLACING OF ORDINARY SHARES IN INMARSAT PLC ("INMARSAT") JPMorgan Cazenove Limited ("JPMorgan Cazenove") and Lehman BrothersInternational (Europe) ("Lehman") (together the "Managers") announce anaccelerated bookbuilt secondary placing of approximately 80 million ordinaryshares in Inmarsat, representing in aggregate approximately 17.5 per cent. ofthe issued share capital of Inmarsat (the "Placing"), subject to demand, priceand market conditions. The proposed sellers of the ordinary shares which are the subject of the Placingare funds advised by Apax Partners Worldwide LLP, funds advised by Permira,Comsat Investments Inc., a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin and Telenor SatelliteServices AS (together the "Sellers"). Whether the Placing proceeds, the numberof ordinary shares in the Placing ("Placing Shares") and the placing price willbe decided at the close of the accelerated bookbuilding period followingagreement between the Managers and the Sellers, and a further announcement willbe made by the Managers at that time. The books for the Placing will open with immediate effect. Pricing andallocations are expected to be announced as soon as practicable following theclosing of the books.
