Scrip Dividend Alternative

Elektron announces that the deadline for electing to receive new shares in lieu of cash in respect of the final dividend for the year ended 31 January 2010 has now passed and holders of approximately 34.03% of the current issued share capital have elected to participate.

Subject to the passing of Resolutions 3 and 5 at the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held on 29 July 2010, an additional 712,354 shares will be issued increasing the total number of Ordinary Shares in the Company with voting rights to 88,826,259. Application will be made for the new shares to be admitted to trading on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange and the new shares are expected to be admitted to trading on 19 August 2010.
