Hampden Underwriting plc
("Hampden Underwriting" or the "Company")
Proposed Change of Name
The Company announces that it is proposing to change its corporate name. The Company was formed with the help and support of Hampden Capital plc in 2007. The close association between the two companies has continued to date with Hampden Agencies Ltd acting as Members Agent and Nomina plc providing administration support. However, within the Hampden Group there is already an entity named Hampden plc and confusion has been noted by clients of the Members Agency as well as by the Directors of and advisers to Hampden Underwriting plc. After much debate it is being proposed that the name Hampden Underwriting plc is changed to Helios Underwriting plc. It is the intention that the close mutual association between the Company and the Hampden Group will continue in all other respects.
The change in name is subject to approval by shareholders and by the Financial Conduct Authority. A circular convening a General Meeting of the Company's shareholders for 10.30am on 5 December 2013 has been sent to shareholders and will be available on the Company's website: www.hampdenplc.com.
