UK Coal PLC13 December 2006 UK COAL PLC • Planning permission granted for 60 acre Waverley business park • Planning application being made for Prince of Wales, Pontefract development London, December 13, 2006: UK COAL PLC ("UK COAL") today announces thatplanning permission has been granted for its proposed 60 acre business park atWaverley, South Yorkshire, by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. Thebusiness park will comprise some 650,000 sq feet (60,000 sq metres) of mixedBusiness, General Industrial, Storage and Distribution, Hotel and AncillaryLeisure and Retail space. UK COAL today also announces that it has held substantial pre-applicationnegotiations with Wakefield Metropolitan Borough Council and that, next week, itwill be submitting to the Authority the Planning Application for theredevelopment of its Prince of Wales site at Pontefract in West Yorkshire. TheApplication will contain proposals for developing over 900 homes and some250,000 sq ft of employment space and community facilities. Planning approvalis anticipated in the second quarter of 2007.
