Project update
Renewable Energy Generation Limited (AIM: WIND), the UK renewable energy group, today announces that its 6MW wind project at Burnthouse Farm has become operational. The anticipated annual output of the project is 14.5GWh per annum, sufficient clean electricity to meet the equivalent annual needs of more than 3,000 households.
REG also announces the purchase of a single 500kW turbine for its project at High Down in Cornwall. This project will be built under the UK Government's feed-in tariff and is expected to be operational in early 2014 producing around 1.8GWh per annum of clean electricity.
The previously announced sale of REG's 4MW operational project at Orchard End to the Company's strategic partner BlackRock is expected to be completed later this year following its financing with the Co-Operative Bank.
REG currently has 9 projects in the planning system totalling more than 78MW of capacity. The Company is on track to submit a further 56MW of projects into the planning system by the end of June this year.
