High Grade Mineralised Zone confirmed at Patricia's 'New' vein
Highlights:
·; 20 metre wide mineralised zone identified in the area of the 'New' vein at Patricia - the widest mineralised intersection yet seen in this southern-most vein
·; As noted in the Cathedral vein, this broad mineralised zone includes a 'high grade core' of 6 metres grading 5.9% zinc, 2.6% lead and 144 g/t silver
·; 'New' vein now interpreted to have a potential strike length of up to 750 metres in an east-west orientation and remains open in all directions
·; Potential for the "New" vein to extend at least 225 metres below surface
·; Opens up a new target area to potentially expand the Project's Mineral Resource
Herencia is pleased to advise that it has intersected a broad 20 metre zone (down-hole length) of mineralisation in diamond hole PTDD073 at the Company's 70% owned Paguanta Project (the "Project"), located in northern Chile.
PTDD073 was drilled to explore Patricia's southern-most 'New' vein, located approximately 100 metres south of Cathedral vein, and to collect metallurgical sample from the Cathedral vein itself for use in the Patricia Feasibility Study. The hole successfully intersected numerous zones of mineralisation in the Cathedral vein and then, significantly, intersected a broad semi-massive sulphide brecciated vein containing sphalerite and galena as follows:
o 20 metres at 3.0% zinc, 1.4% lead and 80 g/t silver from 241 metres, including:
o 6 metres at 5.9% zinc, 2.6% lead and 144 g/t silver from 253 metres
The 'New' vein now appears to be up to 750 metres in strike length with the deepest hole indicating a depth of mineralisation to 225 metres below surface. The PTDD073 collar is located at 494 550E and 7809 600N, with a dip of 54°, azimuth 180º and total down-hole depth of 272 metres.
Herencia's Managing Director Michael Bohm commented "The assay results from PTDD073 show that Patricia's southern most vein may be considerably thicker than first indicated and contains a high grade core zone, similar to that seen in the nearby Cathedral vein. This provides yet another target to expand the Resource base at Patricia and, given its close proximity to the main Cathedral vein, access to this vein is relatively straightforward.
We have confirmed the presence of multiple parallel high grade veins at Patricia and we remain of the view that the area immediately surrounding the Patricia Mineral Resource is highly prospective for identifying further mineralised veins."
