 Professor Stephen Holgate given prestigious Award at American Thoracic Society meeting in San Francisco

Southampton, UK - 22 May 2012: Synairgen plc (LSE: SNG) is pleased to announce that co-founder and non-executive director Prof. Stephen Holgate was given a prestigious Recognition Award for Scientific Accomplishment by the American Thoracic Society in San Francisco on 21 May.

Stephen addressed the Society on breakthroughs in asthma therapy, including the exciting results shown by Synairgen's inhaled interferon beta (SNG001) in the recent Phase II study.

The on-going American Thoracic Society meeting also provides an opportunity for Synairgen executives to progress the licensing process by meeting a significant number of the potential development partners who have either expressed or re-affirmed their interest in the programme since the results were announced on 19 April.
