Tata Steel's Q4 & consolidated FY'13 Key Production and Sales Figure

 

Jamshedpur, April 9, 2013: Tata Steel completed FY'13 with an overall increase in Production and Sales volumes. The year registered its best ever performance in Hot Metal, Crude Steel, Saleable Steel production and total Sales. The key production and sales figures are given below:

Major Highlights - FY'13

Production

·; Ore Mines & Quarries (OMQ) achieved its highest ever iron ore dispatch of 15.0 million tonnes (Previous best 13.18 million tonnes in FY'12).

·; West Bokaro Division (one of the Collieries) achieved its highest ever clean coal production of 2.33 million tonnes (Previous best 2.29 million tonnes in FY'12).

·; Best ever total Coke Production (Jamshedpur & Haldia) of 3.7 million tonnes (Previous best 3.58 million tonnes in FY'12).

·; Steel Melting Shop LD#1 achieved its best ever production of 3.18 million tonnes (Previous best 3.12 million tonnes in FY'12).

·; Cold Rolling Mill achieved its highest ever production of CRCA auto EDD/IF volumes, CRCA skin panel processing volumes, and Galvanneal (GA) volumes at 329.5 kt, 73.6 kt, and 118 kt respectively (Previous best was 322 kt in FY'11, 67.9 kt in FY'12, and 97 kt in FY'11 respectively).

·; New Bar Mill achieved its highest ever production of 0. 8 million tonnes (Previous best 0.78 million tonnes in FY'12).

·; Wire Rod Mill achieved its highest ever production of 0.43 million tonnes (Previous best 0.42 million tonnes in FY'12).

·; Merchant Mill achieved its highest ever production of 0.41 million tonnes (Previous best 0.38 million tonnes in FY'12).

 

Sales

·; Flat product sale in FY'13 increased by 20.2 % to 4.49 million tonnes (previous best 3.73 million tons in FY12).

·; The Flat Products division achieved its highest ever annual high end product sales of 190 kt to Auto customers, (previous best was 155 kt in FY12), and best ever annual Steel Roofingsales volume (Tata Shaktee + Durashine) of 261 kt, (previous best was 248 kt in FY12).

·; The Long Products division achieved its highest ever sales of 2.99 million tonnes (previous best 2.89 million tonnes in FY'12).

·; The Long Products division achieved its highest ever annual retail sales of 1.16 mt (previous best was 1.11 mt in FY'12).
